LEGISLATIVE STAFFER AND LOCAL PARTY CHAIR ENTERS RACE
March 17th, 2018
WALLA WALLA, WA – Today, Skyler Rude of Walla Walla announced his candidacy for the State House of Representatives seat being vacated by Representative Terry Nealey. Rude is currently the legislative assistant to Senator Maureen Walsh. He also serves as Chairman of the Walla Walla County Republican Party.
“As someone who was born and raised in Walla Walla, I believe in the values that make our region a great place to live,” said Rude. “The people in our district work hard and they expect their tax dollars to be spent responsibly by their government. Everyone in our district deserves a good paying job, communities with reliable infrastructure that supports our economy, and effective representation in Olympia,” Rude finished.
“I’ve spent the last three years working for Senator Walsh and serving the constituents of our district. I haven’t been in Olympia long, but I’ve been there long enough to know we can work together, across the aisle, to deliver even results for the people of our district. I strongly believe we must change the culture in politics to put people before partisanship,” said Rude.
“Skyler not only understands Eastern Washington values, but also has the legislative knowledge and experience to effectively represent them in Olympia,” said Senator Maureen Walsh. “Although I’ll be losing an excellent assistant, he’ll make a great state representative.”
