Skyler was born, raised and educated in Walla Walla. His legislative priorities include ensuring high-quality educational opportunity for all Washington children, a healthy business climate that allows all business to thrive, and improved service delivery for our most vulnerable populations.
As Senator Maureen Walsh’s Legislative Assistant since 2015, Skyler worked to resolve concerns for individuals across the 16th District. During his time at the Legislature, he gained invaluable experience to effectively navigate the legislative process and be an effective legislator. Skyler’s professional background includes five years in the insurance industry as a personal property and casualty insurance agent and several years in telecommunications.
Skyler has been active in the Republican Party for over 12 years, serving as a PCO, State Committeeman, and currently Chairman of the Walla Walla County party and Executive Board member for the state party. He is also a past member of the Walla Walla Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and Senate staff Task Force on Sexual Harassment and Discrimination.
